Ai Weiwei, a contemporary artist and Chinese activist, known for his opposition to the communist regime of Xi Jinping, exhibits in Portugal for the first time: Rapture.
AIRELIMESTONES was the producer of the work. Exhibited at the National Coach Museum, Rapture was produced with the First Stone and comprises more than seven dozen pieces.
Rapture presents two creative dimensions of Ai Weiwei: reality and fantasy.
The fantasy explores a work of cultural archeology, where it looks for the identity that China lost, which caused the country to move away from its origins. The reality side, on the other hand, focuses on themes that emerge in our lives with the worsening of human conditions on the planet, whether for political, environmental or social reasons.
